Levee Road is inspired by the rich traditions of Rock N Roll. Our band blends original compositions with unique covers that showcase our distinct sound.
In Geneva Alabama we have levees to keep floodwaters out of the low lying areas. Only one road, the one that leads to higher elevations, is built on top of the levee. This stretch of Highway 27 South takes you right through our old neighborhood and we call it the “Levee Road”.
Founded in 2002, the band “Levee Road” originally consisted of two members, Tom Barney (rhythm guitar) and Todd Wheeler (vocals). Together they are credited with writing over fifty songs and producing the Levee Road “One Way” CD in 2012. After various line up changes the band has morphed into a dynamic blend of Rock, southern rock and blues with a small amount of country (Usually with a bit of Levee Heavy added), covering anything from the Beatles to Guns N' Roses with a number of originals thrown in. Current Line up: Thomas Barney is still a a member on Rhythm guitar and an essential song writer. Matt ( I can turn it up if you want) Donaldson (lead Guitar). Scotty( Chris Stapleton look a like) Moulton on Bass, Dan ( Luke Combs Look alike) Powell on lead vocals and drummer/vocals/all around entertainer Joe Harley, spinning and throwing the drumsticks or beer bottles around whilst keeping atomic clock like timing. Occasionally joined by Mike Mills on Keyboards.
